Rebecca Ohler, LMHC LPC

I am licensed as a professional mental health counselor in Washington and Louisiana.  I grew up on the west coast and moved to New Orleans in 2005.  I graduated from Loyola University New Orleans and completed my graduate work in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Holy Cross and George Fox University.

For the past 17 years I have also worked as a sentencing and mitigation specialist and am passionate about working against systemic betrayal and oppression in our communities.  My work in all things is guided by my deep belief in the value and dignity of all people.

I specialize in working with folks who feel unseen or who have previously had poor experiences in therapy.  If you feel like no one understands you, or nothing has worked, please give me a call and let's see if we can make some connection.

Holding you in positive regard, I offer a variety of tools that might help you to shift from hypnosis and EMDR to trauma-informed treatments and parts work. Together we will cultivate, develop and enhance existing resources within you through a reparitive, gentle one-on-one engagement.

I offer you full access to my computer-science mind where in my previous career I deconstructed and engineered complex systems, not so very different from our own complex human intersections of thoughts and feelings.

In clinical practice for 5 years, I hold an advanced certification from the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation as well as certifications in Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment, Hypnosis, EMDR and comparable modalities with a client emphasis that focuses on your existing resourcefulness.

I am a provisionally licensed therapist with a background in chemical engineering, which shaped my systems-oriented perspective and supports my ability to hold emotional complexity with clarity and attunement.

My approach integrates a deep connection to Internal Family Systems (Parts Work), Brainspotting, trauma-informed modalities, and imaginative tools to meet clients authentically at a pace that honors their healing process.

I work with adults individually and in relationships, drawing from Emotionally Focused Therapy to deepen connection by exploring core emotions and attachment patterns. I am a neurodivergent and LGBTQIA2S+ affirming therapist, with experience supporting erotically marginalized communities.

With creativity, curiosity, and compassion at my core, I approach each session with flexibility, collaboration, and care to create a grounded space where clients feel safe, supported, and seen.

Outside of therapy, I recharge through traveling, watching horror films, and spending time with my husband and our animals.
